Pitches wanted (features, long form) | up to $1+ per word

I'm always reviewing pitches, but especially looking for: snack-y/sassy featurettes and longish-form trend pieces; smart, reported narratives on Big Topics and niche obsessions alike but especially STORIES: compelling characters, twists, turns, humanity.
Just a friendly reminder: Tight, clear pitches are preferred to pre-written stories. (I've noticed this happening a lot lately.)
Also, would encourage everyone to ask themselves a question before hitting send: "Beyond something I want to write, is this story something thatβif someone else had written itβI would want to read?"
We pay competitively. Rates are based on length and depth of reportage, among other factors weighed.
