In case anyone is curious, these are all slang names for the police in the US from various times that I am pretty sure aren't offensive.

Barney is a jab at incompetent police. Barney Fife from The Andy Griffith Show is outwardly loud, a self proclaimed subject matter expert at many subjects, opinionated, thinks he's a genius. But he's actually ignorant, naive, slow and easily duped. Still not sure if he was a good old boy, or a Good Old Boy if you know what I mean?
